Biography

The experimental electronic duo “9T Antiope” consists of Iranian musicians “Nima Aghiani” and “Sara Bigdeli Shamloo”. Through their experimentation in searching for new forms, they reference their backgrounds in classical music, and their influences from hip hop to avant-folk. They blend these influences with electronics, acoustic instruments, vocals and lyrics, in order to narrate tiny bits or huge landscapes of the chaotic worlds they vision along with the story of their inhabitants. 

Since their formation in 2014, 9T Antiope has released music on renowned labels such as PTP (Purple Tape Pedigree), American Dreams, Eilean Rec., Hallow Ground, Opal Tapes, Flaming Pines, and Unperceived Records. In addition to their music releases, the duo engages in diverse projects, providing sound design and composition for theatre, film, and performance art.
